Applies to: Agencies designing packages for their clients

How many plans or packages should I offer my clients, and how should I price them?

Votel recommends offering two packages, and typically no more than two. With too many options people make fewer decisions and often pick none, while with one or two options the decision is simple. Having two turns the question from whether to buy into which one to buy, and some buyers always want the highest option, so make sure one exists.

Make the two packages different levels of service. For example, a standard plan that uses your prebuilt snapshots and a white glove plan where you do a full AI review of the client's business and customize everything for it. A good rule of thumb is to price the top package at least double the first: a $99 plan pairs with a $199 plan, and a $500 plan with a $1,000 plan. Think about how much effort each package takes you.

Price extra services you provide on top, such as social media management, separately as add-ons. That gives clients an upgrade path (a value ladder), and even clients on your highest package can buy add-ons. Keep add-ons for later: mention them once the client is in, with something like "by the way, we do this too".

The exception is a performance or guarantee based offer where the client picks how much additional revenue they want guaranteed, for example $250,000, $500,000, $750,000 or $1,000,000. There you can offer more options, because the client simply picks the biggest amount.
