How do I capture a buyer's name and email before the payment step on my order form?

Make the payment form a two step order form. On step one the visitor enters only their name, email and phone, so you capture the lead before they reach the payment step. Step two is the payment step. If they leave before entering a card, you still have their details.

To build a payment form:

1. Go to Forms and click Create form.
2. Click the form button at the bottom and drag in the payment element.
3. Select the product it sells and put the button at the bottom.
4. In the form settings, turn on the two step order form's name, email and phone collection for the first step.
5. Publish the form, then drag it onto your website in the website builder with the form elements.

If your form already has separate name, email and phone fields at the top, remove them, because the order form collects them for you. You also no longer need an extra button at the bottom. The result is a smaller, cleaner form.
